Testimonials

Jan 16, 2011
Congratulations and thank you to all who participated in the Tribute to Richard Holbrooke on Friday, January 14, 2010. With barely a week’s notice the entire Office of Security came together as one for the protection of two U.S. President’s, President’s of two foreign countries, our Secretary of State, and many more Ambassadors, Diplomats, and VIP’s than the Kennedy Center has seen in a very long time (and possibly ever!). From start to finish your work was exemplary. Security advance planning, parking administration, security sweeps, traffic control, base building protection, “other” duties assigned on short notice, emergency preparedness – all were excellent! Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Your efforts have been commended by the United States Secret Service, Diplomatic Security Service, and Kennedy Center production personnel and executives who were present to witness the event.

June 21, 2011 – I wanted to take this opportunity to recognize the outstanding customer service provided by Ms. Lacrisa Hicks in the Badging Office. As a direct result of the patience, flexibility and professionalism Ms. Hicks provided, we were able to successfully complete the processing of 32 new employees into the Library, on Monday, June 20 in a manner that exceeded our expectations.

She not only represented her office well, but in my opinion she represented the Library well to this audience of new employees.

Please extend my sincere appreciate to her and I look forward to working with her in the future.

During an official meeting between SGI and our client the JFK Center for the Performing Arts, Karles Jackson COTR, stated in reference to the Securiguard Operational Performance,

“ I want to take this opportunity to commend you (SGI) for your performance on this contract. Securiguard officers and supervisors routinely are asked to go above and beyond their requirements to assist us in virtually no-notice high profile, national level events. For example, recently one such high profile event was initially planned for the National Cathedral. At the last minute, it was rescheduled for the Kennedy Center due to the damage the Cathedral sustained in the earthquake. This was a large event attended by national leaders such as the Secretary of Defense and the Director of the CIA. It was a total success because Securiguard made it happen. No SGI officers complained they simply got busy with providing the additional security and traffic control necessary. Securiguard officers always recognize when they are needed and come through for us. I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you.”

“Your officers, managers and supervisors performed admirably during the snow blizzards of 2010. During the most challenging winter weather we have ever experienced in this region, every post was filled and security was never an issue at USDA Headquarters facilities in the NCR. I am receiving many complements relative to the professionalism and team effort your personnel displayed as they worked to secure and reopen government facilities. Please pass along my appreciation for a job well done, not just the past week, but throughout the contract period.”

Kenneth L. Lescallett, Director of Security

For instance, during a heavy snow storm in 2010, the Kennedy Center remained open, however, at the end of the evening, the snow was so intense that there were no taxis available. As a result, an elderly patron was stranded in front of the building. A Securiguard officer went out of his way to transport the patron to his residence, and even helped him to his door. See a portion of his testimonial above.

“The Securiguard Team, as always, was impressive. We count on them to be flexible, firm and gracious…and they are without fail. Securiguard positively represents the Library of Congress in every location on the National Mall. Please convey to them individually and collectively my thanks and the thanks of the entire National Book Festival planning team for their outstanding contributions to the success of the day.”

“I would like to thank you, your supervisors and officers for a “Job Well Done” for the year of 2007. During this year as well as last year your security staff has performed their duties in an exceptional manner. Most security forces do not engage or have the responsibility as we have here at the Kennedy Center which consists of the President of the United States, Board Members, VIP’s, Celebrities, Major Donors, Major Events and a 24 hour operation.

The Officers that remain outside during the extreme cold, hot and rainy weather don’t realize how much I really appreciate them: The school buses and thousands of students; the traffic going in and out of the Service Tunnel; the alarms and EMT response as well as the held door response and access control. This is just to name a few security duties that your staff handles on a daily and nightly basis.

I can’t begin to express myself for the appreciation that I have as the Deputy Director/COTR for the security force. Please pass on my gratitude to the entire security staff for all that they do and have done this past year.”

Karles C. Jackson,
Deputy Director of Security
